Leonardo DiCaprio invests in eco-friendly footwear brand Allbirds

DiCaprio’s investment will reportedly help the company create more mainstream, sustainable and eco-friendly fashion, which begins with Allbirds' newly launched sole, SweetFoam.

nown for his environmentally conscious efforts, Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly invested in popular eco-conscious sneaker Allbirds. 

According to Esquire, the brand is known for being eco-friendly as well as its comfort and minimalist design, which is a suitable match for the eco-warrior actor

"Proud to be an investor in @Allbirds, a company dedicated to creating a more sustainable future by developing new materials and serving as a model for the footwear industry," tweeted DiCaprio on Wednesday, announcing the news.

DiCaprio’s investment, reported People, will reportedly help the company create more mainstream, sustainable and eco-friendly fashion, which begins with Allbirds' newly launched sole, SweetFoam. Since two years ago, the brand has been working on a first-of-its-kind sole made from renewable sugarcane.

The company has launched flip-flops using this material, sold for US$35 via stores representing the brand and outside companies. (saz/kes)
