wayang kulit (leather shadow puppet) show is set to enliven the Pasar Seni Ancol art market in Ancol Dreamland Park, North Jakarta, on Saturday.

As reported by KompasTravel, the show, titled Pandawa Kumpul, will feature dalang cilik (child puppeteers) Barata Wicaksana and dalang Ki Sri Kuncoro.

Pandawa Kumpul itself follows the Kurawas who are plotting to conquer the kingdom of Astina. 

"Wayang kulit is an original art product of Indonesia that we should strive to preserve and Pasar Seni is the suitable place to introduce Indonesian arts to the general public," said PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol president director Teuku Sahir Sayahali in a statement as quoted by KompasTravel on Wednesday.

The performance is said to start at 7:30 p.m. and will last through the night. (kes)
