ide-hailing company Grab has launched its e-scooter GrabWheels service at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) campus in Bandung, West Java.
“After launching [our service] in several locations in Greater Jakarta, we are happy to bring GrabWheels to Bandung city, particularly ITB campus as the first location,” said Grab Indonesia executive director Ongki Kurniawan in a statement on Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co.
The launch is part of a partnership between Grab and ITB’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (LPIK) in the fields of R&D and the utilization of electric-based transportation vehicle, read the statement.

A simulation of safety driving using GrabWheels was presented during the event.
GrabWheels users are said to also receive tips regarding safety driving on their Grab app.
The eScooter service is accessible through the Grab app. After a GrabWheels parking area is found, users can visit the place and rent the vehicle, which is currently priced at Rp 5,000 (less than 50 cents) per 30 minutes. (kes)
