pine-chilling Indonesian horror film Perempuan Tanah Jahanam (Impetigore) is set to screen at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.
As announced on the organizer's official website on Wednesday, the film will be part of the Midnight category, alongside United States' Amulet, United Kingdom's His House and other chosen horror, comedy, or ‘defying genre classification’ films.
Director Joko Anwar took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the news.
“Thank you for the constant support and prayers, friends,” he tweeted.

In another tweet, he explained that the Sundance Film Festival was one of five world’s most prestigious film festivals, alongside Venice, Cannes, Toronto and Berlin.

Joko's other film, Gundala, was screened earlier at the Toronto Film Festival 2019, held last September.

The 2020 Sundance Film Festival will be held from Jan. 23 to Feb. 2, and will feature 118 films from 27 countries. The films are chosen from 3,853 feature-length film submissions. (vel/kes)
