A wax statue of Indonesian singer Agnez Mo is being produced as the latest addition to Madame Tussauds Singapore.

The museum shared the progress of the statue on Instagram on Sunday.

"We hope you have enjoyed the video yesterday as much as we did with @agnezmo on the progress of her wax figure! We have to postpone her figure due to the current situation but the FUN does not stop!"

The statue is expected to be displayed at the museum when the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, making it another attraction for Indonesian travelers visiting the country once the lockdown is lifted.

“On Nov. 8, 2019, we did a measurement for the wax statue in Los Angeles,” said Florence Maail, marketing manager of the museum, as quoted by kompas.com.

Maail said that the singer gave them three different poses for the statue: recording in a studio, receiving an award or singing on stage.

“We hope to show the statue by the end of the year,” Maail said.

Agnez said she found the measurement process an intense experience as it involved her sitting still for almost five hours.

The singer was chosen by the team at Madame Tussauds, the popular wax museum in London, because she is the most awarded Indonesian artist in history.

Established in 1835, Madame Tussauds currently has 23 branches all over the world, including in Thailand, the Netherlands, Australia and the United States.

Indonesian figures such as first president Soekarno, the incumbent Joko Widodo, singer Anggun C. Sasmi and badminton player Rudi Hartono all have their life-sized wax likenesses at the museum. (gis/wng)
