The organizer of the annual music festival has decided to cancel this year's event, citing the "health and safety" of festivalgoers, artists and staff amid "this unprecedented time" of the pandemic.
e The Fest (WTF) 2020 which was to take place on Aug. 14 to 16 at the JIExpo Kemayoran in Jakarta, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Promoter Ismaya Live made the announcement "with a very heavy heart" on Wednesday on the annual music festival's Twitter account (@WeTheFest).
It is with a heavy heart to announce that We The Fest 2020 will not happen as planned. Please take your time to read our official statement.
Rest assured, we’ll see you at #WTF21 next year and it will be worth the wait. Until then, stay safe and take good care of each other. đź–¤ pic.twitter.com/8nCdAWU8OD

In 2019, the festival featured headline acts including Daniel Caesar, Alvvays, Warpaint, Joji and Anne Marie. The WTF 2020 lineup was to feature American hip hop group Migos, American singer-songwriter Clairo, Jamaican-American musician Masego and English duo Oh Wonder, as well as Indonesian performers Isyana Sarasvati, Naif and Sheila on 7.
The announcement did not mention whether the organizer would try to rebook these artists for WTF 2021.
