MOONCHILD was released on Sept. 10 and has been streamed 50 million times on various digital platforms.

The 21-year-old singer and songwriter Nicole Zefanya, known professionally as NIKI, gained critical acclaim following her breakthrough EP, Zephyr. She attributes her musical inspiration to 1990s R&B artists like Destiny’s Child and Aaliyah.

When she was 15 years old, she became the opening act for Taylor Swift’s The Red Tour in Jakarta after winning a competition. The gig catapulted her into a wider audience, and her cover song videos on YouTube garnered new viewers. In 2018, she released Zephyr through American label 88rising. (gis/wng)
