Marsha to speak out for French films

kapanlagi.com

JAKARTA: Actress Marsha Timothy’s longtime love affair with French cinema has paid off: She’s delighted to have been chosen as an ambassador for this year’s French Film Festival.

“French movies are great. They have different kinds of jokes to movies from other countries,” said the 30-year-old girlfriend of actor Fachri Albar.

Marsha and fellow ambassador Nicholas Saputra will promote the 14th French Film Festival in Indonesia, which will run from April 17 to May 10, 2009.

Marsha said it was her mother who first introduced her to French movies when she was just a child.

“I love the comedies. My favorite is Taxi!” the star of Pintu Terlarang (Forbidden Door) enthused.

“But watching French movies is actually depressing,” Marsha suddenly added, before explaining with a laugh, “Because I’m reminded how hard it is to learn French!” — JP
