Son says Moerdiono  married to Poppy

AKARTA: Former secretary of state Moerdiono is married to designer and member of regional representative council (DPD) Poppy Dharsono, his son says.

Moerdiono, one of the faces of state television news during the New Order era, is currently in the process of divorcing his wife Maryati.

Moerdiono and his wife been separated for 25 years of their 52-year marriage. He was married under religious law to singer Machica Mochtar between 1996 to 1998.

Moerdiono’s son Novianto Prakoso said he suspected a third party was behind his Dad filing for divorce.

“My mother and father have been separated for almost 25 years, Why didn’t he file for divorce ages ago?” he said as quoted by detik.com.

“What we know is that father married bu Poppy in 2010,” he said.

Poppy refused to comment on the issue.

“I am letting my lawyers handle this matter,” she said, as quoted by detik.com. — JP
