AKARTA: China posted a solid victory on Sunday, retaining the Sudirman Cup for the fourth time since 2005 after outclassing Denmark 3-0 during the final round of the world team badminton championships at Qingdao Sports Center Conson Stadium in China.

In the first match, mixed doubles pair Chen Xu and Jin Ma beat Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pederson 21-14, 21-14, as reported by www.bwfbadminton.org.

World No. 3 Lin Dan also did not have difficulties disposing of World No. 5 Peter Hoeg Gade 21-16, 21-11 in the men’s singles.

In the the decisive match, men’s doubles pair Yun Cai and Fu Haifeng defeated Carsten Mogensen and Jonas Rasmussen 21-17, 21-13. — JP
