AKARTA: The month-long Jakarta Fair wrapped up on Sunday, registering more than 4 million visitors and booking Rp 3.7 trillion (US$432.9 million) in transactions.
Jakarta Fair chairwoman Siti Hartati Murdaya said in a statement released on Monday that the number of visitors and the total transactions value had exceeded the organizer’s target of 4 million visitors and Rp 3.5 trillion in transactions.
Hartati also said that the event had created 20,000 new jobs.
About 2,600 companies joined the fair to display their products and services in more than 1,300 stalls at the Kemayoran fairground in East Jakarta.
The annual event coincides with Jakarta’s anniversary.
