AKARTA: PT Sigmantara Alfindo, owned by one of the richest men in Indonesia, Djoko Susanto, bought shares in publicly listed PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya, a measure following a second sell-off.
According to a file submitted to the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Monday, Sigmantara purchased 268.9 million shares in Sumber Alfaria, which operates Alfamart minimarket.
Sigmantara spent Rp 981.49 billion (US$107 million) as Sumber Alfaria’s shares were worth Rp 3,650 per share in the transaction conducted on Jan. 11.
The file said that Sigmantara aimed to increase ownership through the transaction. After the transaction, Sigmantara owned 61.52 percent of, or 2.11 billion shares in, Sumber Alfaria.
Previously, Sigmantara sold 147.75 million shares in Sumber Alfaria at Rp 4,100 per share in on Jan. 3, aimed at a divestment. Sigmantara received about Rp 605.78 billion from the divestment.l.
