AKARTA: Singer Memes says she has accepted actress-turned-politician Marissa Haque’s apology for the latter’s lashings in the long-running Twitter war between the two.

“Thank God [Marissa] finally apologized via infotainment & we have forgiven her,” Memes tweeted, using “we” to refer to her family, which was involved in the spat.

Memes did say she preferred Marissa to apologize on Twitter because “it began on Twitter.”

The row between Marissa and Memes began when another singer, Dee Kartika Djumadi, allegedly tweeted that Marissa failed to get her doctorate because her dissertation was produced by someone else.

Dee Kartika was said to have been in a trio that sang religious songs with Memes. Marissa mentioned Memes and her husband, composer Adie MS, in an angry entry on her blog meant as a response to Dee Kartika’s statement. The Twitter war eventually turned into a family affair on both sides.
