AKARTA: One of Indonesia’s largest news portals, detik.com, experienced a change in top management on Monday, with a new chief editor and chief director taking up their posts.
Budiono Nugroho, founder of the portal, announced through his Twitter account @budionodarsono that Asydhad Eljafari would act as the chief editor.
Budiono also announced that he would assume his role as chief director, replacing Abdul Rahman who was a co-founder of the portal.
Detik.com was established in 1998 and was acquired by Para Group in 2011 for a reported US$60 million. Besides detik.com, Para Group also owns local television stations TransTV and Trans 7.
Meanwhile, detik.com sits in the 10th place in the list of Indonesia’s most popular sites, based on web information site, Alexa.
