raft convict Adrian Kiki Ariawan, 69, will be sent back to Indonesia after the High Court of Australia upheld a 2009 Perth court ruling declaring Kiki eligible for extradition.

Indonesian Attorney General Basrief Arief confirmed on Wednesday that he would coordinate with the Australian government to extradite Kiki on Feb. 16 next year at the latest.

'This afternoon, an official with the Australian Embassy, Lauren Bain, gave me a letter outlining Adrian Kiki Ariawan's extradition plan for,' he told a press conference in Jakarta.

'The Australian government has declared that the handing over will be conducted at Perth International Airport on Feb. 16, 2014 at the earliest,' he continued.

In 2002, Adrian, former president director of the now defunct Bank Surya, was found guilty in absentia of misappropriating Rp 1.9 trillion (US$155.8 million) of state funds under the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Support (BLBI) scheme in 1997. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Having entered Australia in 2003, Adrian was arrested by Australian authorities in Perth on Nov. 28, 2008.
