resident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono swore in 14 new ambassadors that will have the duty of representing Indonesia in several friendly countries at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.
The 14 new ambassadors underwent a screening test at the House of Representatives' Commission I overseeing foreign affairs, in September, Antara news agency reported.
The new ambassadors are Nurul Qomar (Brunei Darussalam), Diar Nurbiantoro (Romania), Rahmat Pramono (ASEAN), Raudin Anwar (Libya), and Pitono Purnomo (Cambodia).
Other envoys are Fauzi Bowo (Germany), Mulya Wirana (Portugal), Jose Antonio Morato Tavares (New Zealand), Gary Rachman Makmun Jusuf (Fiji), Yuli Mumpuni (Spain), Soegeng Rahardjo (China), Yusron Ihza Mahendra (Japan), Linggawaty Hakim (Switzerland), and Yuwono A Putranto (Norway).
Several Cabinet ministers attended the oath of office ceremony. They included Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Industry Minister MS Hidayat and Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan.
