The UNESCO site at Tabanan has not preserved the subak irrigation system. It's broken all over the place. Bali is suffering a tsunami of cash from Jakarta.
That is just as destructive as an actual tsunami. It's only the Balinese who can save themselves. Stop selling your rice fields, as Bali will not be able to pay for rice on the world market. Power to your elbow, Sawah Bali, you'll need it.

This really outlines how threatened the Balinese traditional culture is. Sawah Bali is an organization that tries to conserve the rice paddies and subak irrigation system that makes up the magic of the island that we all know.
With local farmers, we try to face issues of overdevelopment on the island that have led to water scarcity.
