Slank guitarist Abdee Negara is quitting the beloved pop-rock band due to an unspecified illness, according to his band mate.
'It's true [that Abdee quit], but I can't tell you [more],' drummer Bimo 'Bimbim' Setiawan Almachzumi said, as quoted by tribunnews.com. 'Abdee says he wants to tell it directly to you all later.'
'[Abdee] is so good at playing guitar,' Bimbim said. 'His sound is so sexy.'
'Abdee never used drugs,' Bimbim said. 'When he joined the group, he was the one who told me to stop using drugs.'
The 46-year-old has reportedly been hospitalized several times this year for kidney problems.
Bimbim said that the band would not seek a replacement for Abdee.
