rivate lender Bank Danamon is preparing Rp 2 trillion (US$149 million) for cash withdrawals from its ATMs in areas across Indonesia ahead of, during and after the Idul Fitri holiday.
Bank Danamon’s operational head, Antony Kurniawan, said on Monday that the bank was committed to meeting the needs of customers, both for cash or banking services, through branch offices and electronic services such as ATMs and cash deposit machines.
“With these [electronic] services, it will be easier for customers to complete banking transactions, which are also supported by digital banking services comprising online, mobile and SMS [short message service] banking,” Antony said.
Bank Danamon will scale down its banking activities from July 4 to 8 for the Idul Fitri festivities and resume its normal operation on July 11. On July 4, Bank Danamon is set to open only 524 of its branches and 14 Danamon Syariah offices.
“We will also serve customers by providing weekend banking on July 9 and 10,” he said. (sha/ebf)
