he city administration and Poland’s capital, Warsaw, are exploring the opportunity of becoming sister cities, Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama stated on Wednesday after meeting the Indonesian Ambassador to Poland Peter F. Gontha.
Ahok said at the City Hall on Wednesday that matters regarding the program would be organized by the office for district heads and foreign cooperation.
“The office will organize a lot of matters and documents [regarding the program], because there are a lot of things to be discussed,” he said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
Jakarta has already cooperated with several cities around the world in sister-city programs, including Cairo, Bangkok, Paris and Los Angeles in the US.
