n the second day of his working visit to West Kalimantan, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated the Aruk integrated cross-border post (PLBN) in Sajingan Besar district of Sambas regency.

The President and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo departed for Sambas on an Indonesian Air Force helicopter from Supadio International Airport in Kubu Raya regency on Friday morning.

After inaugurating the PLBN Aruk, President Jokowi handed over social assistance cards to some residents to symbolize the inclusion of people living in border areas in several government programs. These include the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) for education, the Indonesia Health Card (KIS) for health care and the Social Affairs Ministry's Family Hope Program (PKH).

After performing Friday prayers, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana traveled to Singkawang City via helicopter. They will stay overnight in Singkawang before attending several programs in the city.

Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Culture and Education Minister Muhadjir Effendy, Health Minister Nila Moeloek and West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis joined the President on the trip.
