“Through this cooperation, we want to explore the opportunity to export [traditional] products to South Korea,” The Trade Ministry’s national export development director general, Arlinda, said after the signing ceremony in Jakarta on Tuesday.
KITA is the largest business organization in South Korea with around 74,000 members, mostly small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The association has operated in Indonesia for two years under the KITA Jakarta Center.
The joint statement covers various issues: export promotion between the two countries, the exchange of exporter list information and potential products, organizing business forums and exploring electronic platform development.
“Businesspeople from the two countries will get easier access to trade their products,” Arlinda said.

The cooperation between the two countries is part of the government’s effort to achieve a growth target of 5.6 percent, said Arlinda. (ecn)
