angerang administration in Banten dismissed Transjakarta Corridor 13 elevated route trials in the municipality over weekend, as the administration demanded an extension of the route, an official said.

“Tangerang administration asked us [Jakarta administration] to construct an additional 2.5 kilometer flyover reaching a mall in Ciledug, Tangerang,” said Andri Yansyah of the Jakarta transportation agency on Sunday, as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.

However, he added that the construction would need further discussion with the Jakarta governor. The construction of the elevated route would also be under authorization of Jakarta Bina Marga road agency.

Andri said that he hoped the trials would be continued until the scheduled inauguration on June 22. “We will take the demand for extension to the governor tomorrow. But we asked for the trial to be continued, so it won’t hassle the passengers.”

The Transjakarta Corridor 13 would connect Jl. Tendean and Jl. Ciledug in South Jakarta, with the estimated journey time of around 30 minutes for the 9.3 kilometers route. The route will have 12 bus shelters. (kuk/wit)
