The South Jakarta administration is set to extend Tanah Kusir public cemetery in Kebayoran Lama for use by Buddhists.

“The land for clearing is in the Buddhist plot of 1.9 hectares,” said South Jakarta Forestry head Christian Tamora on Monday, as quoted by kompas.com.

According to Christian, the land has been available for some time but needed to be leveled before being used as burial plots as it was swampy.

Hence, the agency needs around 10,000 cubic meters of soil to fill it in.

The agency is collaborating with Jakarta Bina Marga road agency to conduct the filling in and it expects the land to be usable next month. (wnd)
