he Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) installed a signpost at Menara Latumenten Apartment in West Jakarta on Tuesday for allegedly neglecting to pay taxes amounting to Rp 4 billion (US$295,000).
Along with officials from the Grogol Petamburan subdistrict tax office, military officers and police, Satpol PP installed a signpost at the entrance stating that the apartment had yet to pay its Urban and Rural Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2).
Dedyanto Siahaan, head of the Jakarta Tax and Levy Board’s Grogol Petamburan service unit, said the owner of the apartment had not paid the tax since 2015.
“Before we installed the signpost, we had sent warning letters twice to the building owner to pay the tax,” Dedyanto said Tuesday, as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.
The owner was given 14 days to pay the tax arrears. (wnd)
