erosman, alias Mansur alias Kete bin Jaman, 57, who was found guilty of murder and mutilation, decided to accept a life sentence imposed by the Muara Bulian District Court's judge panel in a hearing led by presiding judge Derman P. Nababan on May 3.
After being given one week to consider the court's ruling, Terosman, who also cut and ate the genitals of the victim, said he would not file an appeal and would accept the verdict wholeheartedly.
"The defendant accepts the judges' decision and so do the prosecutors," said Panda Satria Pradipta, one of the prosecutors on Monday.
In the hearing on May 3, the Muara Bulian District Court's judge's panel sentenced Terosman to life imprisonment and ordered him to pay Rp 500,000 [US$35.27] in fines.
Derman said Terosman was found guilty of violating articles 340 and 363 of the Criminal Code on premeditated murder and theft. The judges said what Terosman had committed was sadistic and inhumane.
The incident took place on Nov. 5, 2017. Terosman also asked his child, identified only as R, 16, to help him murder Dasrullah. During his interrogation, Terosman said he murdered Dasrullah, 45, as revenge because the victim had withheld his salary for three years after he was employed on an oil palm plantation. (hol/ebf)
