26-year-old man working to repair an internet line was found dead after being electrocuted at a utility pole in Cilandak, South Jakarta on Wednesday.

Dwi Prayitno from the municipality's Fire and Rescue Agency said the man had been identified as Badrudin. A team was rushed to the scene after receiving a report at 12:45 p.m., but the worker had passed away by the time they arrived.

"We immediately communicated with [state electricity company] PLN to cut off the electricity, but the victim had already been burned,' Dwi said as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com

Badrudin worked with PT Sigma Cinere Depok to repair an internet line in the area, Cilandak Police chief Comr. Prayitno said.

He added he had asked PLN to check the location to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future. (fac)
