wenty-year-old badminton player Dheva Anrimusthi won two badminton golds in the men's singles and doubles finals against his Indonesian compatriots on Saturday.
Dheva had already won a gold medal in the men’s team category.
Dheva played in the SU 5, a classification for athletes with impairments in their upper limbs.
He defeated Suryo Nugroho 22-20, 21-13 in the finals held at the Istora Senayan in the Gelora Bung Karno sports complex.
Together with Hafizh Briliansyah Prawiranegara, he won another gold after defeating Suryo and Oddie Kurnia 21-9, 21-9.
Playing badminton since he was 9 years old, Dheva has become one of the country's best Para badminton players.
Dheva said he will keep training and learning from his mistakes to be the world's best player in the 2020 Paralympic games.
He added he would sharpen his techniques as a singles player for the Paralympics.
"Opponents in Paralympics will be tougher so I have to prepare myself from now," Dheva said.
Regarding cash bonuses from the government, Dheva said he would pay for his parents to go on umrah (minor haj). (dic)
