n reference to the caricature published in The Jakarta Post of Jan. 11, page 7, which contained the phrase “More heads are going to roll in Saudi Arabia”, the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta conveys its objection to the caricature, as it considers it defamation and the wrong imagery.
The legal system adhered to in Saudi Arabia is based on the Quran and the hadith (sayings) of the Prophet Muhammad, with conviction in the judiciary’s independence from the
executive branch, with no toleration of foreign intervention in the domestic affairs of Saudi Arabia, as asserted by His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
The embassy conveys that such an image is not in line with media integrity, which is obliged to deliver facts from the original source to its readers. The embassy also stresses the importance of communication with the embassy to acquire valid information, which the embassy would strongly welcome.
Therefore, the embassy requests that The Jakarta Post publish this right of reply in one of its print editions and conveys its apologies for the reportage, which has raised a negative image.
