Thousand Islands regency plans to provide inter-island boat routes in 2020 to improve transportation between the islands.
“Right now if we are on Tidung Island and want to go to Pramuka Island, we have to rent a fishermen’s boats, which is quite expensive,” the regency’s tourism and cultural agency head Cucu Kurnia said.
Thousand Islands deputy regent Junaedi said the boat routes had been discussed during the 2019 regional development planning forum [Musrenbang] so that the transportation agency could have them ready in 2020, as quoted by kompas.com.
Junaedi said inter-island boat routes were crucial for locals' daily needs, and would also assist tourists. (gis)
