uthorities have arrested two truck drivers who were reportedly carrying 11 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in Bandar Bakau Jaya Port in Serang, Banten.
Officials from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Customs and Excise Office and the Banten port authority detained the drivers on Sunday.
"They are Adnan A Razak and Maimun. They had 11 kilograms of crystal meth in 10 large packets and seven small packets, [which were] hidden inside a wooden box," BNN deputy head of drug eradication Insp. Gen. Arman Depari as quoted by antaranews.com.
Arman said the BNN had received information about two trucks carrying meth in Banten Port headed to Jakarta.
The arrest was made after the officers searched the trucks using a K9 dog.
"They brought the drugs from Malaysia through Aceh," Arman added.
Adnan and Maimum are currently being held at the BNN headquarters in Cawang, East Jakarta, while the officers are conducting further investigations. (vla)
