Transjakarta bus caught fire in front of a coffee shop on Jl. Pos No. 2 in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, on Monday night. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency head Hardisiswan said that five fire engines were deployed to put out the fire.
"The firefighters arrived at around 8.54 p.m. We we're stuck in traffic, so it took a bit longer to reach the location. But the fire had been extinguished by 9.15 p.m.," he said, as quoted by kompas.com.
Hardisiswan said the cause of the fire was sill unknown, and that the material loses had not yet been calculated.
"As to the cause [of the incident], we cannot yet conclude. It is currently being investigated," he said.
All passengers exited the bus before it was engulfed by fire. (sau)
