This has happened multiple times in the region, says KPU official.
he South Central Timor Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) found election material for North Sumatra in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Thursday.
A Bawaslu officer in NTT, Jemris Fointuna, told Antara on Friday that it might have been mailed to the wrong destination.
In response, the local Bawaslu team had asked the General Elections Commission (KPU) send the “stray” material back to North Sumatra, Jemris added.
A KPU official in NTT, Yosafat Koli, said this had happened multiple times in the region.
Therefore, Yosafat is trying to identify other locations where the election material could have been mistakenly sent to.
“If there is any other election material that have been found in other provinces, we will request [the local election commission] to send it back to us.”
Yosafat added that NTT was currently in need of 998,847 ballots. (mai)
