resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo attended as part of the G20 Summit on Friday a session focused on the digital economy — one of his administration’s priority programs — in Osaka, Japan.

“Between the two working lunch sessions, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in,” said a statement released by Indonesia’s Presidential Protocol and Press Bureau on Friday.
“After that, the President was scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings. In the evening, the President and [First Lady] Iriana will head to Osaka Geihinkan, where the leaders of G20 countries will be treated to a cultural performance and a joint dinner.”
The Foreign Ministry’s outgoing spokesperson, Arrmanatha Nasir, previously said that Jokowi would raise during the summit the issue of the digital economy and human capital development. The two sustainable development-related topics are among Jokowi’s central themes for his first term in office.
The reelected President prepared the 2020 state budget to improve essential services, such as education, health care and basic infrastructures, and boost the quality of human resources throughout the country.
Indonesia now boasts of having three start-up unicorns, namely e-commerce firms Tokopedia and Bukalapak, as well as airline ticketing and hotel booking service Traveloka. Meanwhile, ride-hailing firm Gojek has been classified as a decacorn with a value of over US$10 billion.
