esidents of the Pondok Kelapa low-cost apartments in East Jakarta now have a more convenient public transportation option as Transjakarta opened a new route on Friday.
The bus service coded 7P serves the Pondok Kelapa-National Civil Service Agency route.
Agung Wicaksono, Transjakarta's president director, said the new service was the first in Pondok Kelapa and Kalimalang Raya.
He also expressed hope that the new route would encourage motorists to use public transportation.
Residents and commuters can use the new bus service from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Five buses have been provided for the route.
Bus number 7P is also integrated with Transjakarta Corridor 7 serving Kampung Rambutan–Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta, and Corridor 10 from Pusat Grosir Cililitan, East Jakarta, to Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
The Pondok Kelapa-National Civil Service Agency bus route will stop at several public service buildings such as Harum Hospital, Borobudur University and Cipinang Indah Mall. (eyc)
