The Pluit Putri residents want the land to remain a green open space (RTH), while Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo wants to build a new building for Bina Tunas Bangsa School there.
plot of land in Pluit Putri housing complex in Pluit, North Jakarta, is currently the object of a dispute between residents and city-owned developer PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).
The residents want the land to remain a green open space (RTH), while the company wants to build a new building for Bina Tunas Bangsa (BTB) School on part of it.
The dispute began when on April 26, Pluit subdistrict head Ahmad Rosiwan received a letter signed by BTB School director Yudo Prima Cahyadi. The letter was to notify the subdistrict office that there would be a school building there, on a plot of land within the residential area.
Then on May 3, representatives of BTB School paid a visit to the subdistrict office as an introduction.
On May 27, they found out that the city administration had issued a building permit (IMB) for Jakpro on Jan. 8.
Rejecting the plan, the residents' lawyer, Hengky Hendratno, said the residents doubted the authority of Jakpro, through its subsidiary PT Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo, to commercialize the plot of land.
“What are their rights to manage and commercialize the land?” he said on Monday as quoted by tempo.co.
