he Central Jakarta Police are hunting a suspect identified only as T for alleged supplying liquid marijuana for electronic cigarettes or vapes.

The Central Jakarta Police’s narcotics unit head Sr. Adj. Comr. Afandi Eka Putra said T was on the most wanted list. “We’re still hunting T down,” he said Monday as quoted by tempo.co.

T has been under the police’s radar after the police arrested a suspect identified only as C at a courier service office in East Jakarta, where he was about to deliver 10 packs containing marijuana powder.

C told the police about a suspect identified only as A who received dried marijuana and tools to process it into liquid form. The items were delivered through app-based motorcycle taxis.

A, who was arrested in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on July 12, allegedly could produce up to 100 bottles of 5-mililiter liquid marijuana per day.

The suspects revealed that the liquid marijuana was sold online at different prices.

“The price range for marijuana powder was between Rp 300,000 (US$21) and Rp 400,000. As for liquid marijuana, it was between Rp 500,000 and Rp 2.5 million per bottle. It all depends on the dose,” said Affandi.

From the arrests, the police uncovered that T had networks in Jakarta, Banyumas in Central Java and Surabaya, East Java.

“There are other suspects, not only T,” said Afandi.

He added that they would charge the suspects for violating Article 114 of the 2009 Narcotics Law, which carries the death penalty. (das)
