T

he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned on Tuesday four executives from state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II as witnesses in a graft case related to a baggage handling system procurement project.

The four executives were to be questioned in relation to a bribery case involving Andra Y. Agussalam, the finance director of PT AP II, who has been named a suspect for allegedly accepting bribes of Rp 1 billion (US$70,215) worth of Singapore dollars in relation to the project.

“We have scheduled [on Tuesday] a questioning of the four witnesses in relation to [Andra’s case],” KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said as quoted by Antara News Agency.

The four executives of AP II are Proc and Log Assistance vice president Agus Herlambang, Legal and Compliance vice president Ivone Clara, Human Capital Service vice president Irma Yelly and Corporate Financial Control vice president Mulyadi.

Andra was suspected by the KPK of accepting the bribes in return for his alleged role in ensuring that state-owned telecommunications company PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (INTI) would get the procurement project, which was for the airport operator’s subsidiary PT Angkasa Pura Propertindo (APP).

The KPK has also named INTI employee Taswin Nur a suspect for allegedly giving bribes to Andra. (gis/afr)
