Civil servant named suspect after hitting seven cyclists on Jl. Sudirman

A civil servant has been named a suspect after he allegedly hit a group of cyclists who were riding on Jl. Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Saturday morning.

“The suspect is a [minibus] driver […] who’s a civil servant,” Jakarta Traffic Police official Comr. Fahri Siregar said as quoted by Antara.

The police seized the suspect’s driver’s license, car registration documents, the minibus and seven bicycles as evidence.

Fahri said the accident occurred in front of the Summitmas building at around 6:10 a.m., when the suspect, driving his car, hit a bicycle convoy.

A total of seven people were injured and they were rushed to the nearest hospital.

One of the victims suffered a slash wound on his head.

“Four students also suffered injuries,” Fahri said. (mpr)
