NE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon is ready for battle, and he has put Cypriot star Savvas Michael on notice.
The two strikers will meet in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix semifinals at ONE Fight Night 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II on Aug. 27 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Rodtang has started the fight before even stepping into the Circle, claiming that "The Baby Face Killer" will be taken by surprise when they come face to face.
“Savvas can’t beat me. He wouldn’t even be able to beat me as a kid,” Rodtang said.
“I see that his defense still doesn’t cover what it needs to cover. I’ll take that as my upper hand. If possible, I’d like to knock him out, as I’d like to gain the bonus from the big boss, [ONE CEO] Mr. Chatri [Sityodtong].”
Both fighters did well in the tournament’s quarterfinal round earlier this year. “The Iron Man” defeated Jacob Smith by unanimous decision thanks to his trademark pressure and ruthless intensity.
Michael put on a similar showing against Amir Naseri and scored his own unanimous-decision victory after a dominant and tactical three rounds.

Rodtang noted the two-time Muay Thai World Champion’s prowess, but he is unperturbed overall about what he will bring to ONE Fight Night 1, as he is confident about his own adaptability and skill set.
“I’m not too worried about Savvas’ changed fighting style. I’ll apply my own style. I’ll try to see the weaknesses of my opponents and deal with each round. And I’ll see how to adapt my style if I fall behind. If moving forward is bad for me, I’ll see how I can change,” he said.
“Handling your opponent properly is crucial. That’s the most important skill. As you fight, you should know how you must adapt. If you keep using the same style, anyone can handle you. You need to be a chameleon in order to beat your opponent.”
