View all search resultsThe highly anticipated Women’s International Club (WIC) Annual Charity Bazaar will be officially opened by First Lady Iriana Widodo on Nov. 8 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Hall B. With an underlying theme of diversity and the highlighted spirit of generosity, the bazaar will feature participation from 40 embassies and over 300 carefully selected local vendors, along with food and beverage stalls that present unique products from their respective countries.
As part of an effort to strengthen the bond between neighbors while bolstering the local economy, residents of Jatinegara Indah housing complex in East Jakarta came up with an idea to start a “shop at your neighbors” movement.
The Jakarta administration will set up staple food bazaars in 70 locations throughout the city in a bid to control food prices during the fasting month of Ramadhan and ensure the availability of food stocks. Ramadhan is scheduled to begin on May 26 this year.
