Both social media usage and disinformation tactics show rising trends. The 2022 Young Voters survey report from the Jakarta-based Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) expounded that social media progressively becomes the most-preferred medium for political expression and the primary source of information for the youth, who will also be the majority in next year’s election (54 percent).

The President has cooked up for quite some time a deliberate scenario for the future of the general, and more importantly for Jokowi himself after he finishes his second term in 2024.
It took President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo almost seven years since he came to power in October 2014 to get directly involved in a major diplomatic endeavor as the leader of Indonesia, the largest member country and the de-facto leader of ASEAN.
