The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has vowed to ensure that food packages disbursed under the free nutritious meal program are safe to be taken home, as authorities prepare for a different system for the initiative during the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan.
Instead of a monthlong break as initially proposed, a joint ministerial circular has declared a weeklong school holiday at the beginning of Ramadan, with the caveat that teachers provide their students with an independent learning project for the duration.
