The Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) will implement early next year a pilot of the multi-lane free flow (MLFF) system, which will complement the fully cashless payment system that started in October, the agency's head announced on Thursday in Jakarta.
In Indonesia, up to last March, Bank Indonesia and the National Police uncovered 783 illegal money changers in provinces and 460 of them have been referred to Bank Indonesia (BI) for follow-up measures. BI, in collaboration with the National Police, has been closely monitoring money flows for illegal money remittances.
State-owned telecommunications company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) and state-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga will establish a joint venture company that will be in charge of electronic toll road payments before the end the year.
In a bid to ease traffic congestion on toll roads, state-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga has decided to initiate on Friday an integrated payment system along the busy Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi (Jagorawi) toll road and to eliminate payments at the Cibubur Utama and Cimanggis Utama tollgates.
