resident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is set to attend the Tenun Ikat Sumba Festival in the regency of Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), next month.
The festival, dedicated to woven fabric (tenun ikat) is slated to run from July 12 to 15.
East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Governor Frans Lebu Raya told tempo.co on Saturday that Jokowi was scheduled to arrive in Sumba on July 11.
“[The President] will depart [from Sumba] on July 12,” he added.

According to kompas.com, the Tenun Ikat Sumba Festival had been scheduled to take place from May 24 to 31. However, the festival, which involves 2017 weavers of Southwest Sumba regency, was later postponed to July.
Eden Klakik, who is in charge of promotional activities at the NTT Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, said that in addition to the festival, there would also be parades of 1001 sandalwood horses from July 3 until 12.
The parades will be held simultaneously in the regencies of East Sumba, Central Sumba, West Sumba and Southwest Sumba. (jes/kes)
