“We’re going to bring together 20 sellers from Indonesia and from 80 to 100 Australian buyers. The sellers will offer several tourism packages to Bali, Lombok and other places,” said the ministry's deputy for overseas promotion, I Gde Pitana.

The first leg of the sales mission was conducted on Feb. 7 to 9 in Melbourne and Perth.

The ministry's deputy assistant for Asia-Pacific tourism promotion, Vinsensius Jemadu, said the event seeks to attract more tourists from eastern Australia as most tourists who come to the archipelago are from the western part of the country, particularly Perth.

“We have set a target of attracting at least 1,816,000 Australian tourists in 2017; hopefully we can reach it,” Vinsensius added. (kes)
