Sleman Tourism Agency is currently holding Sleman Tourist Village Festival 2017.
This event is a competition to find out the best tourist village that will represent Sleman for the next tourist village competition at the provincial level.
Up to 22 tourist villages have been chosen by Sleman Regency Tourist Village Communication Forum.
These 22 villages are divided into three categories: Independent Tourist Villages (four villages), developing tourist villages (eight tourist villages) and growing tourist villages (10 villages).
The judging process was conducted on Nov. 1–15 and the criteria being assessed are culinary (20 percent), souvenir (20 percent), potential utilization (10 percent), human resources and local tourism agencies (10 percent), public support (15 percent), supporting facilities (15 percent) and development of tourist visits (10 percent).
On the crowning night, participants that are invited to come to the finale will have to present their main work. (kes)
