T

he state-owned operator of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II), announced on Friday that the Netherlands-based KLM Royal Dutch Airlines would be moving to Terminal 3 on May 15.

Previously, the airline operated at Terminal 2.

Erwin Revianto, Soekarno-Hatta senior manager of branch communications and law, told Tempo.co on Friday that his division fully supported the relocation.

Erwin explained that the move was confirmed this week and was part of AP II’s commitment to improving its services to airlines and passengers.

KLM check-in will be at counters C01-C07 in Terminal 3.

“Passengers are expected to arrive early to ensure a smooth departure,” Erwin reminded.

KLM Indonesia country manager Wouter Alders said in a statement obtained by kompas.com that the relocation would improve the flight experience of passengers traveling to Kuala Lumpur and Amsterdam.

Relocations of international flights to Terminal 3 started in May 2017, when Garuda Indonesia made its move on the first of the month, followed by Saudi Arabian Airlines on July 10, Vietnam Airlines on July 12 and China Southern on Aug. 29.

Carriers relocating in 2018 include AirAsia, Fly Scoot Tiger, Citilink (Penang route), Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Oman Air, Qantas and Jetstar Asia Airways.

Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta is equipped with improved facilities, from free WiFi and digital information boards to self-check-in counters. Business class passengers and Flying Blue members are also entitled to using the Garuda Executive Lounge at the terminal.

“In the airside part, we use the Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS). Security-wise, our CCTV is able to cover 360-degree views,” Erwin said. (mut)
