Australian flag carrier Qantas is offering special travel deals to attract more international tourists to the country.

For several "hand-picked" vacation experiences, discounts will be made available thanks to partnerships forged by the airline with several Australian state tourist organizations to encourage foreign travelers to explore Down Under.

For tourists that are eligible, which means they can show proof of international flight bookings, Qantas Passenger Perks is said to provide more than 40 special offers for tourist destinations across Australia.

They include a 30 percent discount for surfing lessons at Bondi Beach, a 20 percent discount for BridgeClimb Sydney, as well as deals for adventures like snorkeling at the Gold Coast and whale watching. New offers are said to be added in the next few months.

"As a national flag carrier, we are proud to be able to collaborate with Australian tourism partners to promote our country's uniqueness to tourists around the globe," Qantas CMO Stephanie Tully said in a statement.

Last year, Australia received an influx of 9.3 million international visitors, half of them hailing from Asia. In total, these visitors contributed approximately AU$44.3 billion (US$30.6 million) to the country's economy. (sal/kes)
