ersonnel from the Navy’s Marine Corps (Kormar) are currently taking part in the Reconex 2025 joint exercise with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in San Diego County, California.

Six marines from Kormar’s 3rd Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion/3rd Marines have joined the exercise led by commanding officer Lt. Col. Aristoyuda from May 27 to June 16, the Navy said in a press release on Sunday.

The USMC has also deployed six marines from the 1st Recon Battalion/Bravo Company, which is a component of the 1st Marine Division/I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF).

Camp Pendleton is the USMC’s largest expeditionary training facility on the US West Coast.

The participants took part in tactical theory sessions as well as preliminary exercises in the form of a sniper course under supervision from the Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG) on May 27-30.

The lessons included an introduction to US recon organic sniper rifles, consisting of the anti-personnel Barret MRAD Mk22 7.66-millimeter rifle and the anti-materiel Barret M82 12.7 mm rifle. Also being taught were techniques on disguise using ghillie suits, reconnaissance and ambush, measuring shooting distance, reading wind direction and movement approaching target.

The main part of the training will be conducted from Monday to June 16.
